Rest Day from Weight Lifting - Some Information on Nut Mould.

 Day 12/113

For this week, we are tweaking the schedule.   We incorporated into our personal workout an abdominal routine and worked on our body symmetry.   We did not go to the gym for the routine but worked out near our desk without a sweat.

For the Detox, we found some information about nuts and corn.  We suggest that you wash raw nuts and corn before eating to remove mould.  If you buy nuts at the store, buy roasted almonds (1/4 cup equals 8 grams of protein) and roasted cashews 5 grams of protein.) The roasting process removes up to 90 percent of the mould if roasted at a high enough temperature.

Stay away from eating too many raw nuts or raw corn.  Avoid unwashed, untreated raw versions of nuts and corn.  Washing nuts and corn will removed a portion of the mould.  The suggested cooking time for an ear of corn is five minutes.  I'm not sure yet how long corn has to be cooked to kill the moulds.

The suggested microwave time to kill mould on your cashews or almonds is 3 to 7 minutes (the time  percentage kills some of the mould not all of the mould.) I've never microwaved a cashew but I have microwaved popcorn which is 2 to 4 minutes.

I've never been sick from popcorn but too much of this type of moulds in excess may hurt your liver.

Wash your food.  Cook your food. Buy roasted nuts.

Going back to work.
